Day 7 Sept 14 in Moaab, Dead Horse Mesa , Arches NP

I woke up and did my morning walk with Braun. We looked into arches and found we needed a timed entry permit. We were able to get one for between 12 and 1 today. Whew. So this morning we are going to the horseshoe bend Paul has been wanting to see. By the trip planner in the RV we can drive the 37 miles to the bend and get back at 12:30. Hopefully we make it. The weather is lovely, couldn't ask for a better temperature, it's 75. If we had known the temp was so nice we could have stayed boondocking or at a state campground without power.
Paul was so happy to see it.

That bluff obstructs our view, so we can't see it like the famous pictures.
the view is awesome!
Now to head back to Arches. This has also been a good day for ltv sightings. We've seen 3 so far today. One even saw is and we waved at each other.
We made it to Arches, they're is a huge line to get in even with reservations, we passed a sign saying 1 hr from this point.
all stopped.  But it didn't take an hour to get in, maybe half an hr.
Visitor center was crowded
but no one was but the metal critters. They aren't showing the educational movie, what a shame.  We started into Arches and we see a lot of weathered sandstone. A few arches in the distance. We are thinking Canyonland had more impressive shapes. We saw balancing rock. We made it through about half of arches before the rain started coming down. We saw the path to delicate arch looked paved so we got Braun to come with. Very shortly it changed to dirt. So Paul stayed with him and I went to see what could be seen. Then the rain came and bud got ancy. What a puddle hound, he hates water. Paul took him back to the rig and got a rain coat and attempted to join me, but I was on my way back. We waited for him warm and dry. The rain stopped and we continued to the end of the road. We hiked to Tunnel Arch and Pine tree arch. Then started the road back thru the park.
On the way out of the park we saw another LTV and we waved back and forth that brings our total to four today.
I was planning on vegetating and found laundry this afternoon, but Paul wants to drive back to needles overlook. To see it in the daytime. So on down the road we go. Here is Wilson Arch and a bus load of tourists are there.
And we passed a hole in the rock.
It looks intriguing but we didn't stop
